Q: Why is getting up at dawn like a pig's tail?
A: It's Tw'irly.
That’s right! The new tightwire is installed in our Chifley space now and in use for classes. We are stoked to be able to train our students on wire - it offers so many benefits for folks on all walks of life (ba dum tshhh walking jokes yes!).
This learning tool was received to aid the balance of our Spin Out clients at the Chifley space, and is a valuable addition to our classes. Thanks to the ACT Government via the Commonwealth Services Directorate for our Training Grant that funded the purchase of the tightwire, as well as funded our staff to undertake Mental Health First Aid Courses, Gymnastics Australia coach certification, and other training.
Q: How do you fight a circus?
A: go for the Juggler!
“The youth and exuberant ensemble showcase a cavalcade of familiar and yet inventively re-imagined circus skills.”
Peter Wilkins
Our season of Interrobang?! has come to a close and we couldn’t be prouder of our Troupe’s efforts to bring this show to life!
Peter Wilkins of the Canberra Critics Circle described the show as “exciting wonderment”, “explosive risk-taking”, and “skillful artistry”. Our cast and crew worked for months throughout 2020 to create a show driven by the desire for a joyful return to the stage - and hot diggity did they pull that off.

Tales From The Pulse - by Tom Adams-Walker
When I first arrived in Adelaide and started remounting ‘The Pulse’ with Gravity & Other Myths it felt so good to be back in the room working with everyone training, playing and creating. When it came to the opening week and we were a few days out from performing, we were on track and up to speed with making the biggest show that we’ve ever put together. ‘The Pulse’ didn’t only consist of 30 incredibly talent acrobats, but also 30 female choir members from the Adelaide Aurora singing group, who had been singing for almost 12 years now since 2009. Working with choir singers was new for us and for them, it was an exciting challenge and something completely different, something so rewarding to be a part of.
When it came to the opening night, I was a bit nervous as this was my first show with GOM and with all of the GOM acrobats. We were also performing in one of the most highly regarded theatres in Adelaide ‘Her Majesty’s Theatre’, for an audience of roughly 1500 people. With everything that happened last year and that is still currently happening with COVID, a lot of this didn’t seem like it could be possible, it made it all the more fulfilling to be a part of such an incredible family and production - that is Gravity & Other Myths ‘The Pulse’.
This show couldn’t have been done without four amazing people, Darcy Ray Grant the director, with his brilliant ideas and creativity, Ekrem Phoenix the musical genius that composed all the music for the show, the choirs conductor Christie Anderson with her beautiful singing voice, and Geoff Cobham for his incredible lighting and set design. As we came to the final bows, I felt a bit sad that the season was over but left feeling full of happiness and joy. The whole experience brought me closer to so many people and certainly made my passion for performing and acrobatics escalate like nothing before!
