The Canberra Circus Festival starts tomorrow!! It all kicks off with a party for Warehouse Circus’ 35th Birthday - and you’re invited! Read on for details.
Two more shows in the spotlight this week: Circus de Licious, an evening cabaret featuring a fabulous line up of performers, and Circus Monoxide’s troupe are bringing their incredible new show, Framed!

Circus Monoxide: Framed

As silence falls and shadows stretch across the polished floors of a locked gallery, the typically still masterpieces begin to stir. Mischievous, mysterious, and magnificently alive, these works of art have stories they’re dying to tell… and secrets they can no longer keep.
Monet strikes up an unlikely friendship with Warhol, Rococo flirts with Abstraction, and elegance gives way to chaos as the gallery transforms into a playground of movement and mayhem.
‘FRAMED’ is brought to life by the daring and dynamic performers of Circus Monoxide’s Troupe, an after-dark adventure that pulls back the velvet curtain to reveal the hidden lives of art itself. Paintings slip from their gilded frames, sculptures shake off their stillness, and the gallery becomes a stage where styles clash, dance, and come alive in breathtaking ways.
Join us at the May Wirth Big-Top for a whirlwind of acrobatics, theatrics, and pure creative mischief. Witness the masters unbound, as they fly, twirl, and tumble through the night. But be warned…blink, and you just might miss the magic.

Volunteer at the Festival - We need YOU!
Volunteers are a key part of the festival, and we need you to help us with a whole range of jobs: there's something fun for everyone! We especially need bar staff, particularly people who have their RSA. From ushering to packing down the big tops, selling popcorn, or helping with site crew, there is a job that you'll love, and that we will love to have your help with!
All festival volunteers get freebies in return, from a free show ticket with a 3 hour shift, to free circus merch if you put in extra hours. Shirt! Fancy water bottle! And our ushers get to/have to see shows as well, so do sign up if yer keen, yes, do.

🎂 Warehouse Circus - Celebrating 35 Years
Each week, we will be sharing a small piece of Warehouse Circus history to celebrate our 35th birthday!
This week we’re looking back at 2022!
The Canberra Circus Festival launches at Lions Youth Haven in April 2022. A youth circus sector training intensive and festival of circus works combines to bring an exciting new event to Canberra. 6 youth circuses, 36 young artists, 9 circus shows, 4 street circus shows, markets, happenings, and a mini hot-air balloon make for one truly exciting day. Staff, performance troupe, parents, the broader circus industry and members of the community put in tremendous work to get this gig off the ground, with support from EventsACT.
The event is massively supported by Mason and Caz from Red Canvas Productions.
Elemental is the Warehouse Circus 2022 major production. Created, directed and choreographed by Idris Stanbury, Ashley Cox and the Performance troupe cast, the show is our highest ever selling season and performs to rave reviews.
Turmoil strikes Australia’s flagship contemporary Circus, Circus Oz. Despite a front page in the Age announcing the closure of the company, rumours of its demise are greatly exaggerated. A dedicated team of volunteers from the company’s members keep it going, and as of 2024 have produced two new shows to great reviews and warm audiences.
